A gray screen popped up with four languages telling me to restart my computer.
This error is known as a kernel panic error.
- Please hold down the Power button for several seconds until your computer shuts off
- After the computer shuts off, let go of the Power button.
- Wait a few seconds and restart the computer.
A "kernel panic" may occur when the core (kernel) of an operating system receives an instruction in an unexpected format, or that it does not handle properly. A kernel panic may also occur when the operating system is not able to recover from a different type of issue. A kernel panic can also be caused by damaged or incompatible software or hardware.
Most of the time a restart will fix this issue. If you experience the issue again, please call Technical Support at x6688.
