When I log on my PC, an error comes up and I don’t see any of my icons on my desktop.

If you use a Windows computer (PC) and you do not see any icons on your desktop try the following steps.
  1. Right-click on your desktop background and select Refresh.
  2. If that doesn’t fix it then reboot your computer (Start -> Shut Down -> Restart)
  3. Once your computer restarts, log back in and see if your desktop items show.
  4. If you still don’t see your desktop items, find the Ethernet cable on the back of your computer tower (most are yellow or green cables that look like phone cables). Unplug and re-plug the Ethernet cable on the back of your computer and at the wall jack. Go back and perform Steps 1 - 3 above.
If you are still not able to see your desktop items, open a Web Help Desk work order ticket or call x6688. Be sure to include the NSD barcode number located on your computer tower.
