How to download apps on a STAFF iPad

FREE APPS: Staff members can use their username@nsd.org Apple ID and password to install free apps. (Don't have an Apple ID? Here's how you can create one.)

  1. On the iPad, launch the App Store app.
  2. Click the "Search" button in the lower right corner of the screen.
  3. Type the name of the app you are searching for and click "Search"
  4. When you see the app you want to install, click "Get"
  5. If prompted, choose "Use Existing Apple ID" and enter your @nsd.org Apple ID and password. If you don't have an @nsd.org Apple ID, create one using these instructions: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204034 .

PAID or ASSIGNED APPS: Paid app licenses must be purchased by the Technology Department (see instructions below on how to submit an app request). If an app request has already been submitted, approved, and completed for a paid app, the app will be assigned to your Apple ID (be sure you are logged in to your iPad with your @nsd.org Apple ID and that you have accepted the VPP invitation). You will be able to download the app from the "Purchased" apps section of the App Store using the instructions below:

  1. On the iPad, launch the App Store app.
  2. Tap "Today" at the bottom of the screen.
  3. In the upper right corner, click the button with your profile photo (or icon of a head shot) and click "Purchased."
  4. Find the app that you want to download, then tap the download button.

If you have any issues downloading the app, use the "Fix Your iPad" app on your iPad for assistance. If you still can't download apps, please submit a Web Help Desk ticket.

 

How to request a paid app
Before you submit an app request, confirm that:

  1. It is available in the VPP Store 
  2. It does not require an "in app" purchase or other "in app" content

Once you confirm this information, please fill out a Web Help Desk work order ticket. Use request type “04 iPads, Tablets, and Other mobile devices” and choose one of the appropriate app request type. For paid apps, please include a budget number.
