How can I back up data on my district iPad?
The technology department does not back up iPads so you will need to follow the instructions below if you want to have a backup of your iPad data. You only need to go through these steps once in order to set up the backup process. The Northshore School District does not support backing up to iCloud. If you have iCloud backup turned on, please turn it off. Please use iTunes on your Mac to back up critical data.
First, be sure you have the latest version of iTunes available in Self Service on your Mac. Go to Self Service on your Mac computer and use the search window in the upper right corner to search for “iTunes.” If you don't see an iTunes update available in Self Service, then you already have the latest version installed on your Mac. Once you have the latest version of iTunes, use the instructions below to back up your iPad.
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
You will see a backup progress bar in iTunes near the top of the window. Once the progress bar completes, your iPad is backed up. You can now unplug your iPad. From now on, any time you plug your iPad into your computer it will automatically run a back up. Make it a habit to plug your iPad into your computer every couple of days so that you have recent backups of your iPad.
