I just received a new staff iPad. How do I set it up?
How to set up your new staff iPad
Power on the iPad and enter the default passcode to get to the Home screen (if you don't know the passcode, please call the Help Desk). Once you get to the Home screen, please follow these steps:
- Set up Mail and Calendar: Launch Mail and enter your email password. Then follow through the steps in this KB article to properly configure other services to sync with your account. https://kb.nsd.org/article-733.html
- Create Apple ID without payment method: In order to download apps from the App Store, you will need to create an Apple ID (without payment method) using your @nsd.org email address. Go to the App Store, choose a *free* app, and select Create new Apple ID. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204034
- Accept VPP Invitation: This will allow us to assign paid apps to you. Details are in this KB article. https://kb.nsd.org/article-725.html
- Change/Set Passcode: Change your passcode to something other than the default passcode. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204060#setup
Once you have an Apple ID, you can download free apps as needed from the App Store. Paid apps that are assigned to you can be downloaded from the “Purchased” section of the App Store. Details are in this KB article. https://kb.nsd.org/article-621.html
